讲座主题：The Future of shipping finance and investment: New trends and developments
Abstract：The lecture will focus on the most important current trends and new developments in commercial shipping and ship finance. It will cover current challenges in shipping markets including the impact of technological disruptions and new regulation along with the impact of China’s next wave of development. The discussion will then evolve around the global ship finance landscape and major players in this market with special reference in the role of Asian financing for global shipping (including ECA Finance and Leasing). The presentation will also concentrate on the recent wave of consolidation in the shipping industry and its role in re-shaping its future. Finally, the speaker will discuss the future of shipping finance education and provide an overview of the Shipping and Finance Masters programme at Henley Business School, UK.
个人简介：Dr George Alexandridis is an Associate Professor and Head of Postgraduate Programmes at Henley Business School, ranked in the top 5 UK Business Schools by the Financial Times and Economist. As part of his role at Henley he is responsible for the entire portfolio of Masters Programmes while is the founder and Director of the MSc in International Shipping and Finance, a leading shipping Masters in the UK. George is renowned for his work on mergers and acquisitions and shipping finance. His research has been published in leading academic journals and he is a speaker in a number of international conferences and corporate events. He has also acted as an independent M&A and investment advisor while he frequently appears as a commentator on financial and political issues on national television and in the press. George holds a PhD from Durham University, UK and he is an affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) and a member of the Baltic Exchange. He has co-authored a book chapter on Mergers and Acquisitions in Shipping published in the International Handbook of Shipping Finance by Palgrave Macmillan in 2016.
