肖峰简介：Dr. Xiao was graduated from Tsinghua University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master's degree in transportation engineering. He received his doctoral degree in transportation engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2007. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Davis and a transport planner at the Hong Kong headquarters of Maunsell Consulting UK. During the postdoctoral period, he received many funds from the Sustainable Development Transportation Research Center of the University of California, Davis and the California State Department. He is currently a professor at the School of Business Administration, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, and deputy director of the Big Data Research Center. Dr. Xiao is the Yangtze River Scholar (Young Scholar) of the Ministry of Education, and currently presides over many national and provincial-level projects such as the Excellent Youth Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He also enrolled in the Sichuan Province’s 100-person plan. Dr. Xiao’s research interests include artificial intelligence algorithms and traffic data mining, traffic network modeling and optimization, road congestion charging, multi-modal integrated traffic system research, and intelligent transportation systems. He has published more than 30 SCI and EI search papers in internationally renowned journals and conferences such as Transportation Science, Transportation Research Part A, B, C, and ISTTT.
牛保庄报告内容：Motivated by observations in the greater China region, this paper studies a multinational firm (MNF)’s preferences between two procurement strategies in a global business environment. The MNF relies on a contract manufacturer (CM) to produce its products, which serve both markets within (domestic market) and outside (overseas market) China. The MNF will decide whether to control its component procurement (consignment strategy) or delegate that function to the CM (turnkey strategy).Our study indicates that a multi-market structure and a set of tax rules have the potential of impacting the MNF’s choice of consignment vs turnkey. We find that the MNF’s preference could switch twice from turnkey to consignment and back to turn key, and its global profits could first decrease and then increase, as the domestic market grows.
肖峰报告内容：This study establishes a general framework for continuous day-to-day models to capture the perceptual errors in travelers’ day-to-day route choice behavior. As the counterpart of the Beckmann transformation (Beckmann et al., 1956), which has been widely used as a candidate Lyapunov function to prove the stability of continuous day-to-day traffic evolution models that converge to deterministic user equilibrium (DUE), Fisk’s formulation (Fisk, 1980; Watling and Cantarella, 2013) is utilized in our study as a general Lyapunov function for the day-to-day models that converge to stochastic user equilibrium (SUE), so far as the path flow growth rates and the “potentials” of the paths satisfy the condition of negative correlation. A sufficient condition which guarantees the nonnegativity of the path flow is also provided. The logit dynamic (Sandholm, 2010), the logit-based smith dynamic (Smith and Watling, 2016) and the logit-based BNN dynamic (Brown and Von Neumann, 1950) are given as three examples under this framework. Moreover, we extend the second-order day-to-day model in Xiao et al. (2016) for SUE. Some properties of the new model, such as fixed point and stability, are investigated. Interestingly, we find that even the model converges to SUE, the path flows could still go negative during the oscillation under extreme situations. A numerical experiment is conducted to demonstrate the existence of negative path flow for the second-order model.
